Chattanooga Real Estate: Money Magazine Places Chattanooga for Top 25 Places for Retirement Home

Money Magazine in the 2009 rating of "Best Places to Retire" in America placed Chattanoooga among the top 25 cities. Money Magazine reported that Chattanooga was a retiremnt place with a "huge bang for the buck - plus lots of other perks."  Also, stated is Chattanooga's real estate facts including the fact that Chattanooga's median home price was less than half of the national median home price and a low typical price for a3 bedroom Chattanooga home of $140,000.  The magazine also  applauded Chattanooga's Chattanooga's $120 million upgrade fou years ago of its downtown waterfront and the turnaround on the city's formerly smog covered skyline over the past three decades.

More practical benefits were credited such as Tennessee's lack of a state income tax, Chattanooga as home to three hospital systems - Erlanger, Memorial and Parkridge and access to recreation offering everything from camping and fishing to whitewater rafting and hang gliding.

Chattanooga was the only Tennessee city listed among the to 25 cities in this year's Money Magazine list.
